A hardware wallet is a physical device that stores your Bitcoin private keys offline, completely isolated from the internet. When your keys are offline they cannot be stolen by hackers, malware, or phishing attacks. If you keep Bitcoin on an exchange you do not actually own it — you own a promise from the exchange. A hardware wallet means you hold the actual keys, which means you hold the actual Bitcoin.
Your Bitcoin is not stored on the device — it lives on the Bitcoin blockchain. Your private keys are what matter, and those are recoverable using your 24-word recovery phrase. If you lose the device, simply buy a new Electrum Wallet or any other BIP39-compatible hardware wallet, enter your 24-word recovery phrase during setup, and your full balance is restored immediately. This is exactly why storing your recovery phrase safely is critical.
No. Remote attacks require network access to the target device. Electrum Wallet has no wireless connectivity of any kind — no WiFi, no Bluetooth, no NFC. The device communicates only through a wired USB-C connection for firmware updates and transaction signing, and in air-gap mode it communicates exclusively via QR codes with no physical connection at all. There is no remote attack surface.
Electrum Wallet is built specifically and exclusively for Bitcoin. We believe Bitcoin-only devices deliver a simpler, more secure, and more thoroughly audited experience than multi-asset devices. If you hold other cryptocurrencies you will need a separate wallet solution for those assets.

Our firmware is fully open source and the source code is publicly available for review. Before any firmware update is applied, the device verifies a cryptographic signature against our public key — any modified firmware will fail this check and be rejected. Our packaging also includes a holographic tamper-evident seal. If that seal is broken on arrival, contact us immediately and do not use the device.
We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery. The device must be returned in its original, unused condition in the original packaging. Devices that have been set up and used cannot be accepted for security reasons. Shipping costs for returns are covered by the customer unless the return is due to a defect or error on our part. Refunds are issued within 7 business days of receiving the returned item.

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and phone number. We do not collect or store payment card details — all payments are processed by a PCI DSS compliant third-party payment processor. When you visit our website we collect standard analytics data including pages visited, browser type, device type, and IP address.
We share your data only with service providers strictly necessary to fulfill your order, including our shipping carrier and payment processor. We do not sell your personal information to any third party under any circumstances.
Electrum Wallet devices do not transmit any data about your Bitcoin balance, addresses, or transactions to our servers. The companion app connects directly to the Bitcoin network. We have no visibility into your Bitcoin holdings.
Order and customer data is retained for seven years as required by applicable tax and accounting regulations. You may request deletion of non-legally-required data at any time by contacting us.
You may request a copy of your personal data, correct inaccuracies, or request deletion by contacting us using the form on this page. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
All data is transmitted over TLS and stored encrypted at rest. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Electrum Wallet devices are hardware security products. You are responsible for setting up your device correctly, storing your recovery phrase safely, and maintaining physical security of your device. Electrum Wallet LLC is not liable for loss of Bitcoin resulting from loss of recovery phrase, device damage, or user error.
Our products are sold exclusively for lawful personal and business use. You may not resell Electrum products without authorization. You may not tamper with, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract keys from the device hardware.
All prices are in US dollars. Orders are accepted subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel orders at our discretion with a full refund. Payment is due at time of order.
We ship to over 140 countries. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and are not guaranteed. Risk of loss passes to the customer upon delivery to the carrier. We are not liable for delays caused by customs or circumstances outside our control.
Electrum Wallet devices carry a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage beyond IP64 specifications, or damage resulting from unauthorized modification. Warranty claims must be submitted with proof of purchase.
Electrum Wallet LLC's total liability for any claim is limited to the purchase price of the product giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any loss of Bitcoin, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages under any circumstances.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.

We accept returns of unused, unopened devices within 30 days of delivery. The device must be in its original packaging with all included accessories and the tamper-evident seal intact. Devices with broken seals or that have been set up cannot be accepted for return for security reasons.
If your device arrives defective or physically damaged, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage. We will arrange a free replacement or full refund at your choice with no return shipping cost to you.
Contact us using the form on this page or by phone during business hours. Include your order number and reason for return. We will provide a return shipping label and instructions. Returns without prior authorization will not be processed.
Once we receive and inspect your return, refunds are issued within 5 business days to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take an additional 3–10 business days to post the credit.
Devices with broken tamper seals, devices that have been initialized or used, and orders outside the 30-day return window are not eligible for return. Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a manufacturing defect.
